No school!
School is out for the summer! This means classes and extracurricular activities are on hold for a few months. With more free time, it’s more convenient to schedule your child’s initial consultation and following appointments. You aren’t juggling a school schedule with an orthodontic appointment schedule.
Plus, with DentalMonitoring technology, we already help you reduce in-office visits through virtual check-ins! You can simply snap a few pics of your smile using the DentalMonitoring box and send them to us through the secure app, and Dr. Battle can track your smile progress in real-time, remotely.
That means you’ll only have to visit us when you absolutely need to, and you won’t have to spend your summer traveling to our children’s orthodontist offices numerous times. As much as we’d love to see your face, we know you’re busy!

More time to adjust
The first few days of having braces or wearing your clear aligners can be an adjustment. Your child’s teeth and gums are adjusting to the new enforcement of brackets and wires, or custom-designed clear aligner trays, so they may experience a little soreness.
You may have to encourage them to choose softer foods (like soup, applesauce and soft pasta) during the first week or two, until their mouth adjusts to their new treatment. With no school in session, it’s easier for your kiddo to kick back, sip on some applesauce and allow them to focus on enjoying their summer!

Sport those summer colors!
With traditional braces, your child will get to choose a new color for their braces each time you both visit us!
They can take advantage of this creative freedom and choose some bright colors to match the summer season. Try a rainbow of colors, or alternate with different colors on every other bracket!
With Invisalign or 3M Clarity clear aligners, you can decorate your aligners with cool Stickables™! Stickables are small, colorful, themed graphics that can be placed on your child’s aligners to add a one-of-a-kind pizzazz to your smile.

Start the Fall 2024 school year with braces!
After your child’s teeth and gums have adjusted, they’ll be well acquainted with their new smile by the time school starts again. The soreness phase will be over, and they’ll have an idea of which colors or Stickables look the best on their smile.
