Braces remain one of the most reliable ways to straighten teeth and correct how the upper and lower jaws meet. At Premiere Orthodontics, every braces case is planned and supervised by Dr. Jason Battle, DDS, CAGS, ABO, a board-certified orthodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics with more than two decades of experience. Families come to our office at 5733 Canton Cv from across Winter Springs and Seminole County for children, teens and adults alike.
How Braces Move Teeth
Braces work through brackets bonded to the teeth and an archwire that links them. Together they apply light, continuous pressure, and the teeth respond by moving gradually toward the positions Dr. Battle has mapped out. The same mechanics can close gaps, relieve crowding, rotate a crooked tooth and correct bite problems such as overbites, underbites, open bites and crossbites.
Treatment is never a one-size plan. Before anything is placed, Dr. Battle studies your digital scans, x-rays and photos to understand both the teeth and the jaw structure underneath them. His approach favors aligning teeth without extractions wherever the case allows, and he often sees patients who were told elsewhere that their preferred treatment was not possible.
Metal or Ceramic: Choosing Your Brackets
We offer two styles of braces, and both are planned with the same care.
- Traditional metal braces are made of high-grade stainless steel. They are strong, will not rust or corrode, and can handle anything from mild crookedness to complex bite corrections. Many younger patients enjoy picking new band colors at adjustment visits.
- Clarity™ clear ceramic braces use durable ceramic brackets that blend in with the natural color of the teeth. The brackets are rounded for comfort, and they move teeth exactly the way metal braces do, only with a quieter look.
The practical differences between metal braces and ceramic braces come down mostly to appearance, since the price and the mechanics are the same. Some patients prefer Invisalign® or Clarity™ aligners instead, and a few benefit from a hybrid plan that combines aligners and braces. Dr. Battle will explain which approaches suit your bite and your daily routine.
What Treatment Looks Like From Start to Finish
Most patients begin with a complimentary exam. Your first visit includes digital x-rays, diagnostic photos and a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Battle. Instead of putty impressions, our team uses a TRIOS intraoral scanner, which builds a precise 3D model of your teeth in a few minutes and can show a simulated preview of your finished smile.
If you are ready, braces can often go on the same day as the consultation. Let our team know you want a same-day start when you schedule, and we will reserve the time. After that, you will typically see us every six to eight weeks so Dr. Battle can check progress, change an archwire or adjust a bracket. Between visits, DentalMonitoring lets you send photo updates from your phone, so some check-ins happen virtually and you make fewer trips to the office.
Treatment length depends on how much correction your teeth and bite need. Mild cases finish sooner, while significant bite problems take longer. Once the braces come off, retainers hold the teeth in their new positions, and wearing them as directed is what protects the result.
Paying for Braces
We price every treatment option the same, so metal braces, ceramic braces and clear aligners cost the same for a given case. That lets you choose based on what fits your life rather than your budget. The total depends on how severe the case is, how long treatment will last and what your insurance covers.
- Zero-interest in-house payment plans, with low or no down payment required
- Outside financing through CareCredit or LendingPoint
- Most insurance accepted, including PPO, HMO and DeltaCare, plus a Medicaid discount
- Braces are an eligible FSA or HSA expense
- Discounts for military members, first responders and students
Our treatment coordinator files your insurance claims and handles the paperwork. Before you come in, you can review the cost of braces and our financing options.
Protection That Lasts After Treatment
Every patient who completes full treatment with us is covered by our Lifetime Guarantee. If your teeth shift later because the retainer was not worn, Dr. Battle will replace your braces. You would be responsible only for a nominal monthly adjustment charge and the cost of a new retainer. Patients also receive free professional teeth whitening for life once their treatment is complete.

Braces FAQ
Do metal and ceramic braces cost different amounts?
No. We charge the same price for metal braces, ceramic braces and clear aligners, so the choice can come down to appearance and preference.
How often will I need appointments?
In-office adjustments are typically every six to eight weeks, depending on your plan. DentalMonitoring check-ins can replace some of those trips when your progress is on track.
Can I get braces on my first visit?
Often, yes. Mention that you are interested in a same-day start when you schedule, and we will set aside time to begin treatment after your exam.
